Technische Universitaet Bergakademie Freiberg (TUBAF, Freiberg, Germany) was founded in 1765 and is one of the oldest European technical Universities with famous academic tradition in particular in the field of Metallurgy. The Institute of Iron and Steel Technology of TUBAF is a centre of excellence in Metallurgy education and research and has the close curricula and long-term cooperation with NMAU. Started in 70-s academic exchange with NMAU has increased especially after 1991. Over 30 NMAU students within the last decade took part in different degree and language programmes at TUBAF. National Institute of Applied Sciences (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées – INSA, Lyon, France) was created in 1957 and is one of the top French Engineering Universities, INSA trains multicompetent engineers who are both innovative and entrepreneurial. It graduates over 800 engineers each year in 10 fields of specialisation. International perspective has always been a priority for the establishment which has progressively set up international options such as EURINSA, ASINSA and AMERINSA. Today INSA sets a new challenge for itself – to consolidate its position as one of the best Technological Higher Education Establishments in Europe. The Group of Physical Metallurgy and Materials Science has existed since 1971. It was associated with the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) in 1973 and develops collaboration at national and international level. It is a member of a network Research Federation "Matériaux de Structure et Propriétés d’Usage" (Structural Materials and on Use Properties) (FR CNRS, 2145), participates in "Structural Material for Sustainable Technologies" (SMST) Network of Excellence under the FP6. INSA has the agreement of cooperation with PSACEA (Dnipropetrovsk, UA). During 15 years the number of students and teachers exchange approaches to 500 and is practically balanced (the same number of participants from each side).
